Brand New: Gorgeous Handfelted Shawls

J’Adorn is pleased to bring you these stunning one-of-a-kind silk wearables from Vancouver artist/designer Izabela Sauer. What’s especially beautiful about these luxurious wraps is the way you can make them stand out from your body for a little more drama. Instead of simply draping or wrapping them like a traditional scarf, you can turn them into a sculptural addition to your look. Highlight gorgeous collarbones, frame your pretty face, or turn a simple tee or dress into a standout with one of these diaphanous pieces. We also have an assortment of matching felted pins to anchor your design. Choose your look: from feminine to fierce, these will get you noticed!

In her studio on Granville Island in Vancouver, Izabela hand-crafts every scarf and shawl individually, so no two are ever alike. She uses Nuno felting, which is an innovative Japanese felting technique that combines wool and woven sheer fabric. This type of felt is made by hand, anchoring very fine wool fibres into the organza silk. The resulting gossamer felt is extremely lightweight and has excellent drape and flexibility. It combines the lightness of silk with the warmth and funkiness of unspun wool, and will add amazing panache to your wardrobe.

J’Adorn is pleased to join the other fine craft galleries and boutiques that represent Izabela’s pieces throughout the US and Canada. Come on in and see the selection in the shop. We are also happy to take orders for custom colours or looks: just let us know.
